Tasting notes
Tulip / Sake glass
- Appearance
- Clear, with a barely discernible tint.
- Aroma
- Quiet and pleasant; softer after swirling. Pear and faint white grape, flowers, cut grass trailing behind, yogurt, a faint broth-like savory note, and an impression of sweetness. No rice, no noticeable alcohol.
- Palate
- Subtle. Dry, with still a bit of sweetness. Smooth texture, soft and round acidity, alcohol barely noticed. Light, clean body; not savory, no bitterness. White grape and pear carry through from the nose. Very clean and dry.
- Finish
- The main flavor is gone in about 2 seconds, with a faint bitterness. Then a faint, very soft cooked-rice flavor lingers for a while. Any food would demolish it, but it isn't the main character here. Minutes later, a pleasant, almost fruity taste (pear or white grape) remains on the middle of the tongue.
- Notes
- Way better than I was expecting. A great bargain at just $16/bottle
